Biocom expects to create 700 direct jobs this agricultural year

Fernanda Andrade, director of agro-industrial production at Companhia de Bioenergia de Angola (Biocom) announced this Tuesday that the company expects to create, this agricultural year, 700 new direct jobs, thus adding up to a total of 3700 employees and 34 thousand indirect.

The official, quoted by Jornal de Angola, explained that more than half (97 percent) of direct posts are filled by Angolans. Of that percentage, 85 percent are recruited in Cacuso, Malanje, where the factory is located.

In 2021, the unit generated 800 jobs and instructed 2123 employees.

The official also took the opportunity to emphasize that the training base is in line with the Government's programs aimed at the growth of the agro-industry, the increase in production and the reduction of imports.

Biocom – located in the Capanda Industrial Complex – comprises an area of 81,000 hectares, of which 70,000 are for cultivation and 11,000 for conservation of vegetation, and the company is capable of producing 2.2 million tons of white crystal sugar cane sugar.
