In a note, made available on its Facebook, the Malanje Provincial Government states that the governor of that province, Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa" visited the cooperative and delivered more than two dozen sows of pigs: "The provincial governor of Malanje , Norberto Fernandes dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa" visited this Saturday, February 5, the 'Kudiva 1' cooperative, in the Vulangombe sector, Malanje municipality, where he delivered 23 sows of pigs, as part of the swine breeding project".
Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa" took the opportunity to inform that the project "is an initiative of the Executive", which aims to "contribute to the improvement of peasants' income in order to fight hunger and poverty in the communities".
The governor also mentioned that in addition to the cooperatives, this initiative "will benefit 30 young entrepreneurs already trained in animal production, where other young people are expected to be inserted, with a view to combating unemployment".
In total, 80 matrices will be delivered in the 14 municipalities of Malanje, writes Angop.
Alongside the pig farming project, the governor of Malanje "used the visit to start the planting of 16,000 coffee seedlings, in a project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, which aims to support the different cooperatives existing in the province with around 80,000 coffee seedlings".
Albano Manuel, president of the 'Kudiva 1' cooperative, quoted by Angop, applauded the initiative of the tutelage, noting that it will contribute to the diversification of production as well as increase the cooperative's income.
With funding of 30 million kwanzas, the cooperative produces cereals, beans, corn and cassava.
