Angola, Namibia and South Africa should be linked by an agricultural project that wants to maximize the potential of companies that, with the support of Afrexim Bank, intend to create a large-scale initiative with the aim of ensuring food security in the three countries.

The initiative was presented by officials from AgriSkills Transfer and the South African Investment Office to the Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Filomena Delgado.

At the meeting, which took place in Pretoria, Filomena Delgado applauded the initiative, which is in line with the Government's strategy to diversify the economy and stimulate agriculture, writes Jornal de Angola.

Among some of the objectives of the initiative is the improvement of the use of agricultural products with a view to stimulating animal production as well as the recognition of appropriate spaces for production.

The implementation of irrigation systems, design of irrigation systems with electricity and finding opportunities to develop and strengthen the links in the agricultural value chain between the three countries are also some of the points that are part of the initiative.

The initiative also aims to reach the local community in terms of labor and, thus, generate income for families, in addition to the possibility of installing a school for citizens who excel in the initial stages at the local level, in order to come to occupy leadership positions in the project.
