Argentina and Portugal come together to make Luanda dance tango to the rhythm of fado

The embassies of Portugal and Argentina in Angola and the cultural center Camões de Luanda will organize a dance workshop that aims to promote the exchange between fado and tango, cultural references of both countries.

:

The dance workshop "Pelo Fado dance Tango" aims to be "a contribution to cultural exchange using tango as a traditional Argentine dance genre, fado as a traditional Portuguese musical style, in a fusion of movements and sounds, shared with the Luanda community", according to a statement from the Camões cultural center.

It will be guided by Santiago Martino and will take place at Elinga Teatro, on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of February, between 5 pm and 8 pm.

During these days, Santiago Martino will teach some of the basic steps of tango, such as 'walk hacia adentro', 'hacia afuera', 'salida', 'cruce', 'ocho', 'voleos', accompanied by Portuguese music, fado, with tango harmonies.

For reasons of biosecurity, the workshop is for invitation only, but on Friday, the general public will be able to attend the end of the activity with the presentation of a small demonstration, which marks the conclusion of the workshop.

Admission is free, subject to the availability of seats, which must not exceed the maximum allowed capacity.
