Start of requalification of the Marginal da Corimba awaits funding

The start-up of the “New Urban Complex on the Marginal da Corimba” could take place at any time, but it is dependent on the implementation of a line of financing that will allow the start of work, said the Minister of Public Works and Spatial Planning.

:

Manuel Tavares was speaking after the inauguration, this Tuesday, of the Viaduto da Corimba, in the district of Samba. "The implementation of this depends, among other conditions, on the conclusion of the financial framework and the implementation of the financing line for the start of the works, with the expropriation and resettlement of populations being foreseen in its budget", he said, quoted by Angop. .
In a statement, the Ministry of Public Works said that the Corimba Viaduct is not an isolated project, being part of the works package of the Marginal da Corimba project to improve access to the south of the city of Luanda, which includes a marginal road, four viaducts, one node and 26 kilometers of urban roads, included in the Special Public Works Program for Luanda in line with the Luanda General Master Plan.

Its implementation aims to uneven the Samba/Talatona direction, avoiding the intersection at the same level with the future Marginal road, which will have as its starting point the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Mausoleum and end in Corimba, intersecting the Samba road, thus fulfilling the SADC standards that establish structuring roads with uneven intersections.

The viaduct inaugurated this Tuesday is part of the road system in Luanda province, having cost the state coffers US$32 million. The structure is 600 meters long, nine meters wide, with two carriageways each 3.50 meters wide and 5.50 meters high. In the construction, 5300 cubic meters of concrete and 370 tons of steel were used.

The road, which took four years to build, will allow residents of Benfica, Talatona, Futungo, Patriota and part of Morro Bento to reach downtown Luanda with greater road ease.
