João Lourenço exonerates Sonangol managers. Ex-PM Marcolino Moco leaves

The President of the Republic exonerated this Thursday three executive directors of the state oil company Sonangol and a non-executive, former Prime Minister Marcolino Moco, according to a note from the President's Civil House.

In addition to Marcolino Moco, appointed in January 2018 by João Lourenço, executive directors Josina Baião, Luís Maria and Osvaldo Macaia are also leaving.

They will be replaced by executive directors Olga Lukocheka da Silva Sabalo Miranda, Kátia Mariana Siliveli Epalanga Lutucuta and Osvaldo Inácio, and by non-executive director Bernarda Gonçalves Martins.

Sonangol's management is chaired by Sebastião Gaspar Martins and has six executive and four non-executive directors, including former prime ministers Lopo do Nascimento and Marcolino Moco.

At the time when the two former governors were appointed to administrators of the National Fuel Society of Angola (Sonangol), João Lourenço justified the decision because they are a "reference" in the country.

No reasons were given for changes in the oil company's management.
