"We are also pleased with the political stability in Spain, with the new government, which will allow us to resume a series of cooperation programmes that have been affected in the last two years by the political uncertainty in that partner country of Angola," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto.

According to the governor, who was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Polytechnic Institute of Fisheries - Cefopescas - budgeted at 98 million dollars funded by Spain, Angola is "regaining credibility" with its partners.

Manuel Augusto recalled that Spain has a developed industry in several sectors and that Angola had a series of projects planned with the European country, which "should be resumed" as part of the new political approaches in both countries.

"And we believe that we are now in a position, in this combination, to recover the credibility that Angola has and the political stability that Spain has, will certainly allow the economic operators of both countries to implement the projects", he assured.

In relation to Cefopescas, inaugurated this Tuesday by the President, the Minister of Foreign Affairs praised Spain's funding, stating that the action demonstrates that Spain "wants to continue to be Angola's number one partner" in the field of fisheries.

He added: "Everything we have as a basis of the structured fisheries sector is linked to Spain and here is proof that Spain wants to continue to be this partner".

Besides the amount for the construction of the institution, located in the municipality of Belas, Luanda, Spain also contributed to the graduation of 19 Angolan executives for the fisheries sector.
