The diplomat assured that the amount is already secured, but warned that small adjustments with the Ministries of Energy and Water and Finance were needed before proceeding.

According to Angop, the project will take two years to be completed and includes the municipalities of Dembos, Bula Atumba, Pango Aluquém, the municipalities of Muxaluando, Gombe, Zala, Úcua, Kicabo, Mabudas and Bela Vista.

The initiative also foresees the construction of five 125 MVA substations, which will have 304 kilometres of line to transport energy. Four thousand streetlights will also be erected, which will have household connections.

Mara Quiosa, governor of Bengo, stressed that this project is important for the region as it will help develop it and improve the living conditions of the population.

In this province only the municipalities of Ambriz and Dande have electricity from the public grid.
