The so-called Action Plan, which follows the protocol already signed between Angola and Portugal, will be signed between the Commander General of PNA, Paulo Gaspar de Almeida, and the Commander General of GNR, Lieutenant General Luís Francisco Botelho Miguel, who is in Angola for a few days.

According to the commander general of the police, who was speaking this Tuesday during a working meeting with the portuguese delegation, the occasion will also serve to "deepen the friendly and institutional relations".

"With a view to strengthening our preventive capacity, in preventing and combating transnational and domestic crime," he said, guaranteeing that, "despite the economic crisis and [acts of] mismanagement in the past," the state of public security in the country "is stable.

He expressed concern, however, about the "forms and levels of aggressiveness" with which some crimes are committed, noting that the corporation is making efforts to seriously combat these criminal practices with the help of the whole of society.

On Friday 28 February, the police mark their 44th anniversary, the central act of which is scheduled for Cuando-Cubango province.

According to Paulo Gaspar de Almeida, for the best fulfillment of the missions the police are "seriously betting" on training and education, operational management and information technologies, augmenting in this field with the experience of GNR.

"We will review the Action Plan of our cooperation and logically our interest is to boost this process," he said.

For his part, the general commander of GNR, Lieutenant General Luís Francisco Botelho Miguel, since Monday in Luanda, valued the moment, referring that the close cooperation based on the exchange of experiences is one of the purposes of the portuguese delegation.

"We bring our experiences, but of course we also want to gather yours, from the brother country that we believe have here elements that are important, crime is common to all, and we also want to know how the police of Angola surpasses crime," he said.

Besides the protocol to be signed, the GNR delegation also visits, this Wednesday, the National Border Guard Command, the Higher Institute of Police and Criminal Sciences, both in Luanda.
