National Police request support to Portuguese GNR to train staff

The Commander General of the National Police said this Tuesday in Luanda that he has the support of the Portuguese National Republican Guard in the training of its staff, with emphasis on the areas of education, operational management and information technology.

Paulo de Almeida was speaking at the meeting he held this Tuesday with the commander general of the National Republican Guard of Portugal, Lieutenant General Luís Miguel, who arrived on Monday in Luanda to participate in the festivities of the 44th anniversary of the National Police.

At the meeting, Paulo de Almeida stressed that the National Police is seriously committed to training the staff in order to improve their efficiency in the fulfillment of missions.

The commander general of the National Republican Guard referred to the dynamism of the police, which "is on the right track", noting that the GNR also has its experience in this field.

"The exchange of experience is common, we also want to know how the Angolan National Police has overcome the crime situation. It's not static," says a National Police note distributed to the press.

Luís Miguel stressed that the GNR's commitment to closer cooperation between the two countries.
