"TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola will implement an internship program in partnership with academic institutions in Angola, namely in the technical-professional and higher education segment, from public and private entities", the flag carrier informed, in a statement sent to VerAngola.
According to TAAG, the objective is to provide students and recent graduates with "a differentiating professional experience for their CV and career, reinforce the practical component and know-how, complementing the curricular offer taught during their academic training, as well as exposing interns to an environment with high interaction and networking with experts and senior professionals in the civil aviation sector".
Thus, the internship program will cover two aspects: professional and academic. In terms of professional internships, the duration of the internship will be between six and one year, while academic internships will last between three and six months.
"The program will last six to 12 months for the professional internship, which includes candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate degree in a period not exceeding one year. At the same time, and in the case of the academic internship, the program will have lasting three to six months, which includes students who are in their final year of undergraduate studies", informs TAAG.
In this first edition of the program, called 'Take off with TAAG', the statement says, "around 60 places will be made available, and the initiative will be implemented during the first half of 2025, in alignment with partner educational institutions".
Thus, in the first phase, the flag carrier will offer internship positions in three areas: Support and Management; Operations and Market; and Customer Support. This will enable beneficiaries to gain "a skill set" in domains such as operational efficiency, human capital, negotiation with suppliers, etc.
In this sense, TAAG has already ratified a protocol with Agostinho Neto University. "Agostinho Neto University (UAN), through the Faculty of Social Sciences, is the first educational institution to ratify the protocol letter with TAAG", the ceremony for which took place this Thursday, in the auditorium of the UAN University Campus, in Camama.
With this initiative, TAAG says it demonstrates "its commitment to investing in the future of young Angolans, strengthening the bridge between companies and the academic sector, providing more tools for human capital to be competitive in the job market".
