"The company will award up to 60 scholarships, where eligible candidates with the best performance will benefit from specialized theoretical and practical training at the 43 Air School pilot training unit, located in South Africa", the airline said in a statement sent to VerAngola.
The training program in question has "a total duration of 12 to 24 months", and is divided into several phases, "with all phases being eliminatory, depending on the candidate's performance in the assessments".
TAAG also reports that it will bear all costs associated with this program.
"All costs related to the initial pilot training program, namely travel logistics, accommodation and meals for candidates will be borne by TAAG, representing an investment in Angolan human capital assumed by the company, within the scope of TAAG's 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, and the expectation of entering new markets, following the gradual incorporation of new aircraft into its fleet", the note reads.
According to TAAG, the process of recruiting, interacting with and selecting candidates will be carried out by "an external and specialized entity", in this case, Academia Executive Education, "a brand of Academia BAI, recognized as a school of excellence in the area of training and human capital management".
"The partnership with Academia BAI provides the candidate selection process with a high degree of transparency, rigor, allocation of full-time professionals to the project, and compliance with the administrative procedures and requirements inherent to access to this profession", the note states.
The company also informs that the details and procedures regarding applications will be "communicated in due course by Academia BAI, on its digital platforms and website, as well as through the media".
In addition to strengthening TAAG's workforce, this initiative also "reflects TAAG's commitment to acting in favor of Angolanization, employability of qualified young people and contribution to the community, in an effort by the company to make access to the pilot profession more universal and open to all segments of the population", considers TAAG.
