This is not the first time that Angola has hosted this competition. According to the Paralympic committee, in a statement cited by Angop, in 2013 the country was the host of the continental competition, where only the men's team ended up participating.
Next year's competition will be played for both men and women, and Angola is already preparing the potential women's team.
According to the statement, cited by Angop, the national technical committee has already called 21 potential athletes to form the women's team, given that it has completed its national championship and is preparing for its debut in the international competition.
Therefore, on the 9th, the pre-called up players from the women's team will meet at the committee's headquarters, and over the course of ten days they will undergo medical examinations and physical and athletic condition tests.
Call-ups for the men's team are scheduled for March of this year, after the national championship, which does not yet have a announced location.
After 2013, the country stopped participating in the continental competition due to its lack of technical and organizational conditions, thus returning in a more structured way and with both teams.
