The meeting was chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and served to address several points. According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, "the work agenda included nine points, covering matters submitted by six ministries and by IGAE - State General Inspectorate".
The highlight of the first meeting of the Council of Ministers in 2025 is the assessment of the approval of the National School Feeding Programme.
"Among other topics discussed in the session, the approval of the National School Feeding Program stands out, a conceptual reinterpretation of what has been known as 'School Meals' until now," says the note.
This program, says CIPRA, "is an action by the Executive aimed at reinforcing the means and incentives to guarantee the attendance and permanence of students in schools, prioritizing, among other objectives, food and nutritional security in the school context".
In addition to the school feeding program, the general principles regarding the organization and application of the Indicative Structure of Salary Tables, Allowances and Remuneration Supplements for the Public Service were also addressed, the subject matter of which was suggested by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security.
Also on the table for discussion were matters proposed by the Ministries of Health and Transport, namely the regulation on medical hospitalization and the national program to facilitate air transport.
The agency also analyzed issues related to the customs code, personal income tax code, tax benefits code, among others (suggested by the Ministry of Finance), in addition to oil production sharing contracts (proposed by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas).
A matter suggested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also considered, namely memoranda of understanding on different matters with foreign governments, namely Portugal and Tanzania, the CIPRA note also states.
