Irregularities lead Ministry of Education to cancel public tender in Cuanza Norte

According to the minister – cited in a statement from the Ministry of Education, to which VerAngola had access –, "it was proven, after "due diligence" that there was falsification in the awarding of grades and acts of corruption" and, consequently, the guardianship " ordered its annulment", and a new date was rescheduled.

Irregularities were recorded in approximately 200 processes.

"Around 200 candidates were fraudulently approved and therefore those responsible for such acts will be severely sanctioned", the statement reads.

In statements to the press – cited by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA) – the holder of the Education portfolio said they had received "some complaints", "some from the candidates, others from people linked to the candidates", with a team going to investigate these accusations, "and it was proven".

After this cancellation, a new date for a new exam is now being rescheduled, on January 26th. "We are going to cancel the tests carried out in November last year, we are going to do the test again on January 26th", he stated.

Among other aspects, according to the statement from the Ministry of Education, Luísa Grilo left an appeal for the "serenity of the candidates", adding that the sector under her supervision will continue to be attentive, especially because in other provinces the process took place with a "satisfactory level of smoothness" .
