In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the State Asset and Participation Management Institute (IGAPE) informed that the public tender to privatize the nine 'Poupa Lá' establishments had been concluded.
"Within the scope of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV) 2023-2026, the Institute for Management of State Assets and Participations, informs that Public Tender No. 01/23 for privatization, in the form of Asset Sale, has been completed, nine stores of the Poupa Lá Network", the note reads.
Thus, according to IGAPE, three stores were awarded, namely the 'Poupa Lá' stores in Camama I, Icolo e Bengo and Ganda.
The award of these three stores allowed the State to raise 293.4 million kwanzas. "These proposals, whose payment guarantees have already been provided, represent an income for the State, amounting to a global value of 293,485,290.00 kwanzas (Two hundred and ninety-three million, four hundred and eighty-five thousand, two hundred and ninety kwanzas) ", reads the statement.
The launch of the public tender took place on November 9th last year, recalls IGAPE, which also states that it "complied with all the necessary administrative procedures, in accordance with the respective Parts and the Basic Law on Privatization".
Regarding the remaining six stores that were not awarded, IGAPE informs that these "will be submitted again" to a public tender via electronic auction, "on a date to be announced". These are the 'Poupa Lá' stores Tchizainga 2, Tomboco, Zango I, Malembo, Tando Zinze and Mbuco.
