According to Domingos Kalumana, director of the provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, of the more than 180 thousand cubic meters produced, 88,894.7 cubic meters traveled across borders, through export. Speaking to Angop, the person responsible clarified that this volume was exported in raw blocks, with a decrease of around 58,924.6 cubic meters being observed.
He explained that exports fell as a result of excess stock on the foreign market, meaning production was left to the local industry.
According to the official, the rocks – whose exploration is mainly carried out in Chibia, Gambos and Lubango – were exported to Europe and Asia, namely to Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Poland, China, India, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and South Korea.
Regarding the rocks explored, among the most exported are granites, black Angolan, brown and cohiba. According to Angop, Huíla production also produces blue in the darkness, gray, Huíla rose, silver and coral black.
In terms of revenue, the official said that with the export of granite, 389,353,387 kwanzas were included in taxes and fees for the Single Treasury Account (corresponding to 327,885,994 kwanzas less, given the reduction in the export tax that reduced to one percent of production since last year), writes Angop.
