According to the coordinator, on average, 17 patients receive assistance in each session, out of three per day.
However, speaking to Angop, the person in charge said that the center is capable of carrying out 40 dialysis sessions daily, so the number of patients could rise in the coming days, adding that these are patients from Benguela, Bié and Huambo, among the 13 and 72 years old, with medication and dialysis under control.
Furthermore, Glório Lando also made it known that patients, in addition to being medically assisted, also enjoy a daily snack, with the aim of not experiencing other difficulties, such as dizziness, etc., after the sessions, which last approximately four hours.
Kidney patients have also applauded the opening of the center. This is the case of Domingas Luísa, who, in statements to Angop, expressed herself better accommodated in the treatment, medication and transport provided by the Government.
Adelino Abrantes also considered this to be a new era for kidney patients at the Center of Angola, adding that with the launch of this center, patients gain new strength to continue fighting.
Remember that the Huambo Hemodialysis Center, which has 19 beds, was opened last Saturday. Upon its inauguration, the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, announced that Cunene, Cuanza Sul and Cuanza Norte will have hemodialysis centers from the first half of this year.
