Quoted by Jornal de Angola, the person in charge made it known that after its inauguration, which will be carried out by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the center will assist kidney patients in three weekly dialysis sessions.
According to the director, the hospital unit is capable of assisting, on average, more than 40 patients per day in hemodialysis outpatient services, however, he added that "the goal" involves bringing "quality health services to the population".
Lucas Nhamba reiterated that the treatment will be provided by fifty machines that will filter and clean the blood.
Furthermore, he added, the devices also "control blood pressure" and help the body maintain balanced substances: "In addition to these functions, the machines control blood pressure and help the body maintain the balance of substances such as sodium, potassium, urea and creatinine", he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.
According to the official, the center will also include an oxygen factory. "The unit has the installation of an oxygen factory, in addition to other hospital services", he pointed out.
The opening of this center is welcomed by Rebeca Cecília. At the age of 16, the teenager who suffers from kidney failure says that her life will be "easier": "Now my life is easier, because before I had to travel to Luanda to receive medical assistance", she stated, quoted by Jornal de Angola.
