Mota-Engil wins contracts in Angola worth around 875 million euros

Mota-Engil announced, this Monday, the award of contracts in Angola and Mexico for around 975 million euros, according to a statement published by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

Thus, indicated, his subsidiary in Africa "signed three new contracts in Angola, worth around 875 million euros", including one with the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing (MINOPUH) of that country, "for the contract for the 'Conception, design and construction, and completion of infrastructure on the Corimba waterfront' in Luanda".

This project "consists of the construction of the Corimba waterfront and associated works, namely the construction of 2000 social houses, construction of four road interchanges, and rehabilitation of some urban access roads to the waterfront, as well as the construction of the Cambanda Corridor", "this contract will last 36 months and have an initial value of around 670 million dollars [615 million euros]".

The group also signed a contract, also with MINOPUH, regarding the "contract for the 'Rehabilitation of the general infrastructures of the Nova Vida urbanization, in the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi' in Luanda, which includes the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures general aspects of the Nova Vida urbanization", which "will last 24 months and have an initial value of around 228 million dollars [209.2 million euros]".

Mota-Engil also reported on a contract with the General Tax Administration, "in relation to the 'Construction, restructuring and improvement of the Luvo border post'", in the "Province of Zaire on the border of Angola with the Democratic Republic of Congo", with a duration of 20 months and a value of around 57 million dollars (52.3 million euros).

Finally, in Mexico, the company "also signed a new contract worth around 100 million euros (1,997 million Mexican pesos) associated with the construction of a viaduct connecting Chalco and Santa Martha for exclusive use by Metrobus".

According to the company, "the construction of that viaduct will take an estimated time of 8.5 months and will allow the connection of the State of Mexico to the country's capital, improving the fluidity of traffic in that area and reducing travel time for users."
