Brent barrel prices for March delivery ended Tuesday on the London futures market down 4.6 percent to 82.10 dollars.

North Sea crude, a benchmark in Europe, ended the session on the International Exchange Futures quoted at 3.81 dollars below the 85.91 dollars with which transactions closed on Friday.

Brent trading evolved downwards this Tuesday, similar in size to the rise that ended the last session of 2022, on the day that OPEC announced that its crude was sold last year at an average of 100.08 dollars per barrel, 43.19 percent more than in the previous year.

After 10 days of interregnum, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries updated this Tuesday the prices of its barrel – a conceptual figure, since it results from the weighting of 13 qualities of crude, relative to each associated State –, corresponding to the last sessions of 2022.

OPEC is made up of Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Angola, Republic of Congo, United Arab Emirates, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria and Venezuela.

The price of an OPEC barrel ended the year on a high, reaching 81.29 dollars on December 30, 4.25 percent more than on the last day of the market in 2021.

Fears about hydrocarbon supply problems, generated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the severe sanctions imposed on the Moscow regime, were the main factors behind this rise in prices.
