Criticism showers around post-landing tests. Passengers complain about lack of change

There have been criticisms about the payment of 11,278.18 kwanzas for the post-landing test, which only took effect this Wednesday. Among the list of complaints from passengers arriving at the 4 de Fevereiro Airport are the lack of change and delays in the payment and receipt process.

According to Novo Jornal, which was at the airport's arrivals terminal, the biggest complaint concerns the lack of change. Passengers have paid the test in foreign currency, but the lack of foreign exchange has hampered the process of receiving change.

Elzeviriano Coelho and Sadrick António, coming from Portugal and Turkey, respectively, are two of the passengers affected. They paid for the test with 20 euros, but were eventually notified that they would not be entitled to change for lack of smaller coins.

Another passenger complained about the waiting time for change. The citizen, who did not have kwanzas, paid with 50 dollars, having been waiting a long time to receive the change: "I think this is a business or they want to take advantage of impatient people, because at the time of change in dollars or euros it's a problem," he said.

According to Novo Jornal, testing has been quick, but many citizens are frustrated with the obligation to pay for the test, a requirement of the Angolan government that is not seen in other countries at the time of arrival.

In addition, the time to leave the airport is also extended. Therefore, passengers suggest the adoption of a new system, where it is possible to pay for the test in advance, using systems such as bank transfer, among others.

Speaking to Novo Jornal, Humberto Jorge, coming from Turkey, indicated that he traveled to several European countries and that he was not required to carry out a post-landing test.

"Initially I took the test before departure and wherever I went I just showed the result at the airport, without complications. Unfortunately, already on the flight to Angola we were informed that we have to take a new test and pay for it", he said.

Angolan Francisco Garcia, on the other hand, considered that the measure "is not logical", since he took a test before leaving for Angola. "There is no logic. For this to cancel the mandatory test in Portugal, on the 3rd, to come for a single test here in Luanda. Thus, we have to pay for two services", he indicated.

There were also complaints regarding the national vaccine certificate. Several passengers complained about the validity of the Angolan certificate abroad: "Our digital vaccine certificates are not valid abroad because the barcode is not recognised".
