Covid-19: Angola registers 218 new cases, one death and 697 recoveries

Angola recorded, in the last 24 hours, 218 new cases, one death and 697 recoveries, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, released this Wednesday.

The new cases were reported in the provinces of Luanda (132), Cabinda (45), Cuanza Sul (29), Namibe (4), Huambo (3), Cuando Cubango (2), Cuanza Norte (1), Huíla (1) and Uige (1).

According to the bulletin, the new infections were found in citizens aged between two months and 71 years, 168 males and 50 females.

In the same period, a man died in Cuando Cubango province.

There were also 697 recoveries, of which 236 in Luanda, 103 in Cuanza Sul, 91 in Moxico, 68 in Cuanza Norte, 59 in Luanda Norte, 40 in Huíla, 26 in Cunene, 22 in Bié, 19 in Namibe, 15 in Bengo, 11 in Cuando Cubango and seven in Huambo.

The laboratories processed 3471 samples by RT-PCR with a daily positivity rate of 6.3 percent.

With the most recent data, the country has a total of 97,812 cases, of which 5067 are active, 1892 have died and 90,853 have recovered.
