CISP is studying the possibility of installing more video surveillance cameras in the most critical places in the capital

The deputy director of the Integrated Center for Public Security (CISP), deputy commissioner Adulcínio Lutucuta, announced that the center is studying the possibility of installing more video surveillance cameras in the most critical places in the capital, with a view to preventing the occurrence of crimes.

:

The official, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), added that they are "aware" that the number of cameras installed in Luanda "are still not enough".

For that reason, he said that they are "developing several studies" to be able to "determine the most important places for the installation of new cameras".

Adulcínio Lutucuta added that "since the inauguration of the CISP, only in the territory of the municipality of Luanda", they caught "17 elements stealing electrical cables".

"It is also important to say here that the video surveillance camera serves as a deterrent to the performance of the criminals' actions. The criminals, before carrying out their actions, most of the times make a study of the place and where they see that there is a camera installed, they avoid of committing the crime there," he added, quoted by RNA.
