Mota-Engil will receive another 2.1 billion kwanza for works at the Port of Cabinda

The President of the Republic authorized an addition of 2.1 billion kwanzas to the dredging contract at the port of Cabinda, under the responsibility of the construction company Mota-Engil Angola, due to the worsening of macroeconomic conditions.

The contract for the execution of dredging works in the access channel, maneuvering basin and berths of Novo Quebra-Mar and Cabinda Pier, whose value and date are not mentioned in the presidential order, was signed between Mota-Engil Angola and the Ministry of Transport, under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities.

In the presidential dispatch, dated 6 January, the President, João Lourenço, considers that the "worsening of macroeconomic conditions led to an economic and financial imbalance in the contract" which represents a supervening and relevant change in the circumstances in which the parties founded the decision to hire", therefore there is a need for an addendum to the contract, in the amount of 2.1 billion kwanzas.

In two other presidential orders, the President of the Republic authorizes the opening of two public tenders.

One of the tenders for the construction and equipping of the Conventional Sanitary Landfill in the Province of Cabinda, worth 4.4 billion kwanzas, and for the construction of 43 elevated water tanks with a capacity of 100 cubic meters in the province of Cabinda, worth 2.5 billion kwanzas.

The other tender concerns the installations of the General Inspectorate of State Administration, including the rehabilitation of the Muxima Plaza Building, at an estimated value of 4.7 billion kwanzas, and the acquisition of furniture and IT equipment, for 3.7 billion kwanzas. kwanzas.
