The minister, who was speaking on the balance sheet of repatriation flights, said that an assessment of the situation is expected by the Government in the coming days. It is known that, with regard to flights previously scheduled, there were dropouts of some passengers for various reasons.
During the operation of repatriation flights of Angolan and foreign citizens residing in the country, TAAG made 38 flights to the cities of Lisbon (Portugal), Cape Town (South Africa) and São Paulo (Brazil).
According to Angop, a total of 6296 passengers were tested throughout this process, transported by the flag company but also by TAP and other operators.
Of these, 16 tested positive for covid-19 during the post-landing testing process at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport in the last seven days.
It is recalled that, to prevent the entry of new variants of the virus in the country, the authorities temporarily suspended air, sea and land connections with countries such as South Africa and the United Kingdom, also imposing the obligation of post-landing testing at all passengers.
