Production at the Port of Luanda grew 13 percent in November 2020

The Port of Luanda, in November 2020, moved an additional 87,777 tons of goods from November of the previous year. According to data from the Ministry of Transport, in November last year, the port handled a total of 701 thousand, 443 and 52 tons of goods compared to the 620 thousand and 266 tons handled in November 2019,corresponding to an increase of around 13 percent.

The tutelage also reports that July and November 2020 were the months with the highest peaks in 2020, and for December 2020 the port hopes to obtain equally good results, writes Angop.

The data also indicate that in the first three months of 2019, the company's overall production was 3.6 million tons.

This drop concerns the covid-19 pandemic, which had a negative impact on the movement of goods.

The data show that the greatest impact was recorded in April and June 2020, with falls of 40 and 24 percent, respectively.

However, in July 2020, the Port of Luanda grew again: in relation to the same period in 2019, the port grew by 13 percent.

In August 2020, 574 thousand and 043 tons were handled (58.86 tons more than in August 2019). In September 2020, 605,821 tons were handled, 5 percent more than in the previous year.

In October of last year, 8,198 more tons were handled than in October 2019, the data shows.
