The minister again called for compliance with the measures in place to reduce the impact of the pandemic in Angola and cut the chain of transmission, stressing that the global situation requires a collective effort, given the exponential increase in the number of cases and the emergence of the new strain of virus.
"We have countries that are in the second wave and others, like many European countries, are already in the third wave and we have to look at these situations and continue to comply with the measures that can protect them and avoid the worst impact of the pandemic in our midst," he said.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,934,693 deaths resulting from more than 90.1 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
