MINTUR launch Tourism Startups award to promote entrepreneurship

The Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) and the Platinaline launched on Tuesday a contest called "Tourism Startups". This competition aims to "encourage entrepreneurship in various sectors based on technology and find out which startup will continue to propose innovations in tourism".

The contest will run for six months and, according to the Minister of Tourism, Ângela Bragança, it was "designed with the purpose of promoting technology-based entrepreneurship, showing how innovation and technology can create new opportunities to generate income and jobs," reads the statement.

In her speech, during the opening session that took place in the VIP room of Cinemax do Belas Shopping, the minister revealed that "young people are hoping to take responsibility for this challenge and present startups with objective and prospective projects, based on different subjects about Tourism". "Startups should have a future, that is, have expression and development as a source of income and employment", she added.

The CEO of Platinaline, Sarchek Necésio, considered that this initiative will help tourism in the country: "We want to help in the development and growth of projects that have to do with the experience of travel, tourism and environmental impact. There are many young people with innovative ideas and we want companies to buy these projects to implement and improve the experience with their clients".

The finalists and awards ceremony will take place in September this year.

If you are interested in registering, you can do so between 28 January and 25 July via the competition website.

"The prize guarantees to stimulate creativity, create a massive and at the same time comprehensive communication environment, create clear and low-noise communication, an inclusive and comprehensive project and collect contributions for the sector", completes the note.
