Gabriela Figueiredo Dias answered questions from journalists at the CMVM's head office in Lisbon at a meeting where the supervisory body presented its priorities for 2020.

Asked if the CMVM is following the process, the Chairman of the Board of Directors said that the entity "is following the situation with great attention and action", the two combined.

Gabriela Figueiredo Dias underlined that the information disclosed by the International Research Journalism Consortium (ICIJ) last Sunday "is of great importance for the CMVM".

"It is important, relevant, we are following with the attention and acting with tranquility that should characterize the regulator, with the rectitude that our attention should respect, but with the assertiveness and the greatest possible accuracy", she added.

"The CMVM has already initiated, since Monday, concrete supervisory actions with those responsible", she said.

NOS issuers and Galp are companies in which Isabel dos Santos is a businesswoman, and the CMVM is monitoring the situation.

"We are monitoring and acting with NOS, as issuing entity", said the responsible.

"As an issuing entity, information has been requested and we are in permanent interaction", she added.

"Some auditors have already been the object of actions, we are working and they are not initiatives that are taken lightly, each intervention is duly worked on", said the responsible.

Gabriela Figueiredo Dias underlined that the qualified participations in NOS and Galp "are transparent" and that this is not what is at stake.

The CMVM also has supervisory actions underway with the auditors involved in 'Luanda Leaks'.

"Supervision is information gathering, we are asking for clarifications, we are seeking and obtaining, we are obtaining information that will allow us after analysis" to decide whether there will be other measures to adopt or not, continued.

The International Investigative Journalism Consortium (ICIJ) revealed on Sunday over 715,000 files under the name 'Luanda Leaks', detailing financial schemes of Isabel dos Santos and her husband, Sindika Dokolo, which will have allowed money to be taken from the Angolan public treasury, using tax havens.
