Elephants destroy agricultural fields and leave Cuanza Norte people without food

Agricultural fields in the municipality of Bindo are being devastated by elephants, denounced the population of that locality, in the municipality of Ambaca, Kwanza Norte province.

:

According to the village ruler of Cazanga, António Kimuanga, herds of up to a dozen elephants are destroying banana, maize, cassava and potato crops.

The traditional leader, cited by Angolan public radio, said that due to the situation the population was left without food, so he asked the authorities for support.

In his turn, Ambaca municipal administrator Francisco Cambango called on the population to use traditional, non-disruptive tricks to scare away mammals, including the touch of cans and bonfires.
