Finance Minister signs agreement with London Stock Exchange

The holder of the Finance portfolio signed, on behalf of Angola, a training agreement between the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA), said a statement from the Ministry of Finance to which VerAngola had access.

The signing ceremony - symbolically held at the London stock exchange closing hours - was attended by the Angolan ambassador to the United Kingdom, Geraldo Sachipengo, Baroness Lindsay Northover, BODIVA administrator, Mário Caetano João, and senior LSEG staff. .

This agreement establishes the terms of an institutional and professional training program with the name “Readiness to Capital Markets”, in order to make the Privatization Program (PROPRIV) more robust.

Thus, starting in May, three training sessions will be held on topics related to the preparation of capitalization processes on the stock exchange. Strategy, governance, risk approach and corporate social responsibility will be the featured content.

The training courses are aimed at administrators of companies that are part of PROPRIV, members of BODIVA, IGAPE (Institute of Asset Management and State Participations), CMC (Capital Market Commission) and private companies previously identified and interested in capitalize on the stock exchange.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the London Stock Exchange Group, through its training arm, LSEG Academy, develops about 180 courses, attended annually by 2100 individuals worldwide.
