According to the spokesman for Lobito General Hospital, Alberto Sakessongo, quoted by the Angop agency, the two young men died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
On 21 January, the 21-year-old recruit felt bad while taking a physical endurance test. The young man was assisted on the spot, however, eventually died when he was being taken to the hospital.
Four days later, on 25 January, the same thing happened to the 18-year-old recruit. After having been given a physical test in the sun, he began to feel ill, having to be rescued and taken to hospital. The young man, who was also in cardiac arrest, was subjected to resuscitation maneuvers in the hospital unit, but ended up not resisting.
Alberto Sakessongo regretted what happened and revealed that autopsies will be performed on the bodies to determine the causes of death.
Angop contacted an AMEX source, but AMEX did not want to comment on the situation, saying that an official statement will be issued after the results of the autopsies are known. Despite the situation, the evidence of entry is still ongoing, the agency said.
