According to a statement quoted by Angop, the company, which handles more than 70 percent of Internet traffic on the African continent through its points, has become the most interconnected operator among the countries of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).
Moving from a continental perspective to a global perspective, Angola Cables also has a small presence in global terms, assuming responsibility for one percent of global traffic, and possessing a solid infrastructure capable of processing more than 18,488 Tbps (Terabit-per-second Transport), directly connecting five areas (Africa, Europe, Latin America, the United States of America and Asia), while ensuring high connectivity, low latency and resilience.
According to Angop, the SACS submarine cable, which connects Angola to Brazil, is essential to the company's infrastructure, as it enables fast connections to big names such as Google, Facebook and Amazon.
In addition, the national company also manages AngonIX, which is one of the main points for exchanging Internet traffic on the African continent, with two world-class data centers, namely AngoNAP Fortaleza (Brazil) and AngoNAP (Angola).
Angola Cables continues to expand its network – currently consisting of submarine cables with more than 33,000 kilometers and access to almost 70 data centers – to international markets, including Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, the United States of America and Nigeria.
