Handball CAN: Angola beats Cameroon and adds fourth consecutive victory in the competition

The senior women's national handball team remains undefeated in the African Nations Championship (CAN), which takes place in the Democratic Republic of Congo, recording a total of four victories in four games played. The most recent victory took place this Sunday, with the Pérolas beating their counterpart from Cameroon by 31-14.

At the end of the first half of the game, counting for the fourth round of group B, the team was already winning with a difference of eight goals (17 to 9).

Angola's advantage remained until the final whistle, with the team adding yet another victory in the competition.

The Angolan Handball Federation, in a note to which VerAngola had access, reported that Marta Alberto was considered the 'most valuable' player in the match. "Marta Alberto was the MVP of Angola's victory against Cameroon by 31 to 14", says the note.

On Saturday, the Pérolas played the third game of the CAN preliminary phase. The national team faced Guinea, winning the match 35-22.

So far, Angola is undefeated in the competition, registering four victories in four games played. With these results, the team leads group B, with eight points, followed by Cameroon (six points), Democratic Republic of Congo (six points), Tunisia (three points), Guinea (one point) and Uganda (no points).

Angola has already qualified for the 'quarters', but will still have to fulfill the table and play the fifth and final round of the preliminary phase. That last game is scheduled for this Tuesday, against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
