The arrest records were forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Director of Investigation of Criminal Offenses, Commissioner José Carlos da Piedade, reported this Thursday in Luanda, during the Judicial Coordination meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ).
The Commissioner, who presented the statistical data obtained in the context of fuel smuggling, revealed that the balance is the result of coordinated actions between the Angolan National Police (PNA) and the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), which proceeded to the seizure of 2,212,292 litres of petrol, 3,740,985 litres of diesel and 210,081 litres of illuminating oil, resulting in losses to the State in the order of one billion kwanzas.
The DIIP director also reported that, during the same period, several vehicles used in fuel smuggling operations were seized, including: 85,160 empty drums or tanks, 59 tanker trucks, 70 light vehicles and 179 motorbikes.
According to a statement from the National Police to which VerAngola had access, the meeting was chaired by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ), Joel Leonardo, and was attended by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Military Court, Cristo Alberto, the Secretary of State for Technical Support of the Ministry of the Interior, Cristiano Mário Ndeitunga, and other individuals from the Justice sector.
