Woman in transit detained at Luanda airport with 20 kilos of cocaine

Authorities arrested a South African woman in possession of 20 kilograms of cocaine at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda, the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) announced.

According to a note from the SIC, the woman was caught in transit with two suitcases, in which 26 packages of drugs weighing over 20 kilograms were hidden in 13 waterproof jackets, originating from Brazil and destined for Cape Town, South Africa.

From January to November of this year, the SIC has seized a total of almost 49 kilograms of cocaine and over 15 tons of cannabis.

According to the same source, in another operation, the authorities arrested two men of Guinean nationality and one Portuguese-Angolan national, bound for Dubai and France, at the time of disembarkation of passengers, in possession of 45 thousand dollars and 41 thousand euros, respectively, the amounts of which were hidden in shoes and clothes inside the suitcases.
