In addition to ASPAFRA, Mota-Engil Angola in partnership with the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, Mwana Pwo and the Associação Caridade e Solidariedade com os Povos (CASP) were also distinguished.
According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the Mwana Pwo institution won second place, taking home 25 thousand dollars. CASP came in third place, having raised 15 thousand dollars.
"The three winning institutions were chosen for their notable impact on improving the living conditions of communities in Angola, standing out for their commitment and dedication to the most relevant social areas", explains the statement.
On the occasion, engineer Manuel Mota, member of the foundation and representative of the family, considered that this award "is more than recognition, it is a celebration of the impact of institutions" that transform lives in the country.
"This award is more than recognition, it is a celebration of the positive impact of institutions that, with dedication, transform lives in Angola. It also reinforces the legacy of my grandfather, Manuel António da Mota, and the Mota-Engil Group's commitment to the sustainable development of the country", he said.
Ana Dias Lourenço highlighted the importance of this award. "This recognition reflects our joint commitment to Angola's progress. These institutions are proof that it is possible, with determination and work, to build a more inclusive and sustainable future," she said.
The awards ceremony took place last Saturday, at the Intercontinental Hotel, and was attended by the First Lady of the Republic, who "chaired the jury for this edition, and several prominent figures, including members of the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, representatives of Mota-Engil and prominent personalities from Angolan society".
According to the statement, the award ceremony, made by Ana Dias Lourenço and the "other members of the jury, celebrated the transformative impact of these organizations, reinforcing the importance of initiatives that place communities at the center of sustainable development".
"Designed to recognize and value the role of non-governmental and non-profit organizations, the award distinguishes initiatives that promote sustainable development and social well-being in Angola", the note also reads.
