Finalists announced for the 2nd edition of the “Uma Vida em Angola” award. Find out who they are

The seven finalists of the second edition of the Award 'Manuel António da Mota – Uma Vida em Angola' are now known, whose winners' podium will be announced next Saturday during the award ceremony. Among the finalists are, for example, the Aliança para Promoção do Desenvolvimento da Comuna do Hoji-ya-Henda, Jovens Com Uma Missão, the Associação Angolana de Ajuda Humanitária, among others.

For this edition, according to a statement sent to VerAngola, a total of 60 institutions were invited to participate, with 39 accepting the challenge.

"After a rigorous evaluation process, which included field visits and a detailed analysis of the projects, seven finalists were selected, who are now competing for first, second and third place", says the note.

Thus, the note adds, the list of finalists is made up of the Aliança para Promoção do Desenvolvimento da Comuna do Hoji-ya-Henda (Cazenga, Luanda); Jovens Com Uma Missão (Huambo); Associação Angolana de Ajuda Humanitária (Benguela); Associação Social Paz e Fraternidade de Angola (Luanda); Mwana Pwo (Lunda Sul); Associação Caridade e Solidariedade com os Povos (Benguela e Uíge) and Aldeias de Crianças SOS Angola (Luanda).

At the awards ceremony, held by Mota-Engil Angola, in partnership with the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, on December 7th, at 5pm, the winners will receive cash prizes.

"The prizes will be awarded during the ceremony and have the following values: 50,000 dollars for the first prize, 25,000 dollars for the second prize and 15,000 dollars for the third prize, converted into kwanzas at the official exchange rate of the day and in accordance with the regulations previously shared with institutions", says the statement.

The ceremony will be in Luanda, more specifically in the Diamante Room of the Intercontinental Hotel and will be attended by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, who "played the role of president of the selection jury for the finalist institutions, as well as other figures of prominence of Angolan society".

The award was created with the aim of "recognizing and valuing the work of social solidarity institutions that, through their projects, have a positive and transformative impact in Angola, in the areas of education, health, culture, environment and social inclusion", the statement also points out.
