The provincial government of Huambo, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, reported that the acting governor of the province of Huambo "went to the largest health unit in the province on Wednesday night, with the aim of finding out about the clinical condition of the victims of the traffic accident" that occurred that same day on National Road No. 120, in the Chipipa area.

"During the visit, Edgar Hilário received detailed information from the medical team on duty and expressed his solidarity with the victims who are in a serious clinical condition," the statement said.

On the occasion, the statement said, the governor "deeply regretted the tragic event that has left several families in mourning, leaving a message of appreciation, encouragement and condolence."

The governor assured the provincial government of support "to the victims and their families, and appealed to motorists to strictly comply with traffic rules, stressing the importance of caution and responsibility when driving to avoid similar tragedies."

It is worth noting that, following the accident, ten people died at the scene and another on the way to the hospital. Three injured people were taken to the Huambo General Hospital, where one of them ended up dying on Thursday morning.
