The Secretary of State for Territorial Administration and coordinator of the Project's Technical Group, Teresa Quivienguele, informed that 8000 guests are expected at the central event of the celebrations.

"Eight thousand individuals, including several heads of State, were invited to the central event of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Angola's Independence, which will take place on November 11, 2025, in Luanda", says a note from the Government, which VerAngola had access.

The Secretary of State – speaking last Friday, during the launch of the Official Program for the Celebrations of 50 Years of National Independence, which was guided by the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida – presented the official program of the festivities, having also informed that 3800 personnel from the defense and security forces will parade on the occasion.

Furthermore, to mark the event, an official song and logo were also created. According to the Government statement, the logo is "a stylization of the number 50 that symbolizes the anniversary, composed of semiotic elements, which reflect Angola's trajectory, integrating references from the past, current reality and a vision of the future, prosperity and development for Angola".

In turn, the music created by Totó brings together 25 national voices. According to the person responsible, the song written by Tóto is "sung by 25 Angolan artists from different generations, musical styles and different regions of the country, in addition to the contribution of 15 instrumentalists and 24 choristers".

The song is accompanied by a music video, which "reflects three main moments in the history of Angola: the struggle for national liberation, the achievement of peace and national reconciliation and the gains of peace and national reconstruction", the statement reads.

According to the government, the organizing committee for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the country's independence drew up a communication plan that is divided into four phases.

"The plan contemplates the massive dissemination of all activities related to the 50 Years of National Independence to be carried out during the current period of celebrations", points out the note.

The program includes 126 activities that take place until December 31st of next year, with emphasis on the Luanda Biennial, "a special edition of Angola 50 years, the 2025 Carnival, with the participation of groups from all provinces".

The schedule also includes a friendly football match between Angola and Argentina, as well as the African Basketball Championship (Afrobasket 2025) and the African Fencing Championship for Cadets and Juniors.

"The program also reserves, among other activities, the holding of the F1H20 and AQUABIKE World Championship, Colloquium on the Role of Women in the Struggle for National Independence, Didactic Competitions – Mathematics Olympics, FENACULT Special Edition Angola 50 Years", says the statement.

It is worth noting that the official launch of the festivities program took place in Parque da Independência.

It is worth remembering that, at the end of last month, it was announced that the Executive would honor figures who had an important contribution to achieving national independence.
