Unitel Estrelas ao Palco: one hundred votes per second allowed the 19-year-old to be (re)born a 'star'

Janilson Simão is the country's newest 'star', after winning the 4th edition of Unitel Estrelas ao Palco. The 19-year-old, who imitated rapper Pop Smoke, received an average of 100 votes per second during the decisive time of the contest, allowing him to 'shine' more than his competitors and become the new national music star.

The young man received more than 40 percent of the votes. According to Platinaline, which cites a source close to the magazine and linked to Unitel, the young man won an average of 100 votes per second at the decisive moment of the test.

In the final, which took place last Thursday, Janilson competed for the title with five other competitors, who imitated the artists Nagrelha, Kueno Aionda, Marília Mendonça, Yannick Afroman and Prodígio.

"There were more than two hours of broadcast brought by the Zap Viva channel to viewers' homes. A spectacle enhanced by the performances of the competitors, but also by special guests Pérola and Gerilson", says a statement sent to VerAngola.

At the gala, imitators of Kueno Aionda, Marília Mendonça and Nagrelha "were eliminated in the first round of presentations which also included a battle between the six competitors".

In the final, the competitor who 'masked' himself as Pop Smoke, "with 43 percent of the votes, shone brightest, becoming the new revelation of Angolan music", followed by the competitors who played Prodígio and Yannick Afroman.

With this achievement, the young man born in Huambo took home several prizes: a new car from Caetano Angola, as well as "the right to record an EP with six songs, free communication through the operator Unitel".
