Ottoniel dos Santos, who was speaking to journalists in Luanda, after the admission of negotiations on the Debt and Stock Exchange (Bodiva), which sold 30 percent of its capital, stated that the success of this operation indicates that the next ones should also be positive.
The Secretary of State welcomed Bodiva's entry into the stock exchange, after the State sold a 30 percent stake, currently having over 1869 shareholders, considering that the company's opening to the market "is the window for other opportunities, even outside of privatization programs, may happen".
"We are talking about purely private sector companies, which believe in the market as a way to finance their projects, and which can effectively obtain the necessary capital to continue operating and prospering in our economy", he added.
He added that the market reaction was much higher than expected with demand being almost eight times above supply, which he considered a sign that the market already realizes that this asset has the capacity to generate revenue and that it could help create conditions for that other assets can enter and have the same demand.
In the pipeline for listing on the stock exchange are three national heavyweights: Unitel, from the telecommunications sector, Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA) and Standard Bank, from the financial sector, which should happen by the first half of 2025.
"We have in our portfolio the completion of the company privatization project via the capital market. We also have in our portfolio three large assets to be privatized on the Stock Exchange (...) We believe that, with Bodiva's results, these sales, due to their capillarity, knowledge and also attractiveness, can also be a very positive success", he said, adding that the forecast is to complete these projects during the first half of 2025.
Regarding the price at which the assets that are part of the privatization program will be sold, he highlighted that "it is determined according to deterministic values that result exactly from what their operation is" and when the time comes to start the privatization process of these assets, this price will be set.
