President unlocks 80 million for rehabilitation of schools in the capital

The President of the Republic authorized expenses worth 80.9 million dollars for the rehabilitation, expansion and equipping of eight public schools in Luanda, due to their advanced state of degradation.


The measure is contained in a presidential order dated December 22nd and consulted by Lusa after being published in Diário da República, which authorizes the expenditure and formalizes the opening of the “simplified contracting procedure”, for the conclusion of public works contracts. for the “rehabilitation, expansion and equipping” of said infrastructures.

These are the secondary schools of the first cycle of Njinga Mbamdi, 1.º de Maio, Juventude em Luta, Ngola Kanine, Ngola Kiluanje, and also Complexo Escolar nº 9.001, Escola do Ensino Especial do Rangel and Commercial Technical Institute of Luanda.

The President of the Republic delegates to the Minister of Education the responsibility, with the power to sub-delegate, to follow up on the process and verify the validity and legality of all acts carried out within its scope.

The Ministry of Finance must register the projects in the 2024 General State Budget and ensure the availability of the financial resources necessary to implement the aforementioned projects, the order states.
