This meeting takes place three months after the last one, which took place last September and addressed the country's political-military situation, public security and human rights. Furthermore, he also considered the National Security Bill, among other issues related to the State's intelligence and security services.
Members of this body are the Vice-President of the Republic, the presidents of the National Assembly, the Constitutional and Supreme Courts and the Attorney General of the Republic. Ministers of State and ministers appointed by the President of the Republic are also part of the council, in addition to other entities that the holder of executive power determines.
The National Security Council, as an advisory body to the President of the Republic on Defense and Security matters, is currently led by João Lourenço, as Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
