According to official data from the Spanish energy regulator, CORES, cited by the financial information agency Bloomberg, Angola's oil imports doubled in October, compared to the same period in 2022, to 548 thousand tons, with Brazil maintaining as the main supplier in Spain for the fourth consecutive month, surpassing the United States of America.
In October, after Brazil, the largest oil suppliers to Spain were the United States, Angola and Nigeria, with total crude imports increasing 11.3 percent to 5.3 million tons.
Bloomberg notes that the appetite for African oil has increased since last year, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the resulting sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia.
