The information was provided by the company's Core and Services director, Júlio Gonçalves, who assured that the operator's agents will meet customers to offer and install technological means – namely 'router' devices – in their homes, at no cost to customers. users.

The official was speaking to the press after the public presentation of the operator's new residential Internet service, called "Unitel Net Casa".

"Customers will not pay anything for access and installation of equipment in their homes, but they will pay for the services provided by 5G", clarified the official, quoted by Angop.

"Unitel Net Casa" includes five weekly and monthly plans, with prices ranging from 4,000 to 125,000 kwanzas, also alternating the Internet speed between 10 and 200 megabytes per second (mbps).

For example, within a month, the customer can pay around 15,000 kwanzas to enjoy the operator's 5G service at a speed of 10 mbps.

From the router installed in the residence, the operator's customers will be able to share the Internet with up to five mobile phones, depending on the plan they subscribe to.

Also according to Júlio Gonçalves, the fifth generation (5G) greatly surpasses the speed and volume of information of current 3G and 4G services.

This new service will be available in 29 areas of Luanda, in a first phase, with coverage of the entire capital of the country expected to be covered in the short term. Among the areas covered by the first implementation, ANGOP highlights Vila Alice, São Paulo, Baixa de Luanda, Maianga, Murro da Luz, Talatona, Nova Vida, Patriota, Jardim de Rosas, Quifica, Kilamba, Vida Pacifica and Sequele.

After Luanda, Unitel plans to extend 5G to the remaining provinces of the country, and services should start in Benguela, Huíla and Huambo.

Tested for the first time in December 2021, 5G will also make it possible to provide greater speed to telemedicine services, as well as reduce face-to-face labor in industries, says the operator.

Unitel has 12 million customers, being the market leader in the country.
