According to a note from the Press Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, the head of state, João Lourenço, granted prisoners sentenced to custodial sentences an opportunity for social and family reintegration.
"For the pardon, the President of the Republic took into account the fulfillment of half of the prison sentence applied, the good behavior demonstrated by the inmates during the fulfillment of the sentence and the absence of social danger resulting from the return to freedom" of these citizens, refers to note.
The document stresses that the pardon granted by the head of state covers convicts from across the country.
