The data were provided to Angop by the owner of the company, Jorge Pinho. According to the official, with this investment, the company hopes to become the largest goat and sheep breeder in Cuanza Sul.
He also said that the investment should create about one hundred jobs, direct and indirect, with the aim of supplying the domestic and foreign markets with 150 thousand slaughter animals per year, starting in 2022.
Capri Gila is, at the same time, investing in breeding animals through breeding for slaughter. This is done in confinement and reproduction in semi-confinement (fattening based on a balanced diet).
"The company intends to be a leader in the supply of meat in Cuanza Sul, with a capacity of 400 thousand heads, 150 thousand of which for slaughter, enough to supply the national market and export", said the owner.
To support this project, starting in January next year, the assembly of new equipment and installations will begin, valued at approximately 3.9 billion kwanzas.
"With this investment we intend to reach our meat production cruise with the Boer, Anglo Nubian and national breeds selected for the size and quality of the meat", he also told Angop.
Another of the company's projects is to find a sub-breed of goats, based on crosses of high quality breeds with indigenous animals. For this, more than 344 thousand kwanzas were invested in November, destined to purchase support material.
The company has been clearing about 10 hectares of land per month, of the three thousand available to install slaughterhouses with meat shops, animal handling equipment, agricultural purposes, electrification, irrigation systems, construction of offices and dormitories.
