Covid-19: country registered three deaths and 116 new infections

Health authorities reported this Tuesday the death of three people due to covid-19, 116 positive cases and the recovery of 34 patients, counting to date a total of 393 deaths, 16,802 infections and 9729 recovered.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, the cases are distributed throughout the provinces of Luanda (38), Zaire (32), Lunda Norte (16), Huambo (8), Cabinda (6), Bié (5), Moxico, Malanje and Uíge (3, each), Kwanza Sul and Huíla (1, each), being 72 men and 44 women, aged between 4 and 73 years.

In the last 24 hours, three Angolan women died, aged 60, 72 and 73, two of them in Luanda and one in Zaire.

Currently, there are 6680 active cases, of which three are in critical condition, six severe, 75 moderate, 119 mild and 6477 asymptomatic, with 203 people being followed up at treatment centers.

Regarding the laboratories, the data shows that 7360 samples were processed, the largest number recorded to date, of which 116 were positive, giving a daily positivity rate of 1.6 per cent.

With regard to the cumulative number, the indicators point to 294,333 samples processed to date, of which 16,802 are positive, giving a cumulative positivity rate of 5.7 per cent.

On Tuesday, a total of 818 people were tested at the entry and exit points of Luanda, 657 men and 161 women, 18 of whom were reactive, giving an exposure rate of 2.2 percent. However, no case was confirmed in the confirmation test.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,703,500 deaths resulting from more than 77.2 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
